New Spirit 46 to début at 40th Anniversary Newport International Boat Show 16th – 19th September 2010

Spirit Yachts will be attending the 40th Anniversary Newport show, marking the Company's first ever appearance at a USA boat show, with the latest Spirit 46 model which will be on show at Dock N – 1E. If you are new to Spirit Yachts and are from the USA, you may have seen one of our yachts - the Spirit 54 - in 007’s 'Casino Royale' as James Bond’s personal yacht of choice.

The Newport International Boat Show is celebrating its 40th year! It is one of the largest in-water boat shows in the USA, showcasing the latest boats, both power and sail, presented in the luxurious setting of Newport, RI... making it a must for any yachtsman. 

Spirit Yachts find it fitting that a reunion of the America’s Cup 12 Metre Legends will be held at the show on Thursday, September 16th at 5PM. Entrance to this forum is Free. A panel of some of the most famous names in the race’s history will be speaking at the forum. Gary Jobson, ESPN’s Yachting Commentator and co-chair of the reunion, will moderate.

The Spirit 46 is a masterpiece of contemporary wooden yacht construction. Her glamorous looks, so reminiscent of the meter yachts and ‘sharp boats’ of the 1930’s belie the extraordinary technical achievement of her construction. This yacht weighs a truly remarkable 4.5 tonnes – of which half is the weight of the keel!
