Performance

Optimised for racing or cruising

Famed for elegant beauty combined with cruising comfort and racing speed, Spirit’s yachts are designed and built for optimum performance.  However, performance comes in many different guises.  Whether its speed on the regatta circuit, fuel efficiency or eco-credentials all aspects of a yacht’s performance are scrutinised.

The wood epoxy composite construction technique employed by Spirit creates lightweight yachts without sacrificing structural integrity.  Underwater, a deep fin keel and ballast bulb complements the streamlined hull and the modern appendages above deck.  This combination of strong, lightweight, streamlined design, allows the yachts to reach their maximum potential.

Carbon spars and rod rigging accompanied by modern deck hardware enhance the yacht’s capabilities without over-complicating the sailing.  Spirit Yachts works closely with sailmaker OneSails GBR East to provide the latest in sail technology and together they ensure each yacht is tuned and refined for optimum performance.

“In terms of performance, I consider Spirit’s epoxy wood strip planking construction the best on the market as it offers fantastic strength and power without the weight.”

- Eric Levet, owner of Spirit 46’, Ilhabela II
