Spirit 46’ Helen entered the Spirit yard in Suffolk looking slightly shabby and in need of attention. After a full refit, Helen emerged with a stunning new bright blue hull and in her owner’s words looking “like a new yacht”.
Helen’s third owner brought her over to the UK from Greece after she was left unused for a considerable time. The highly skilled team of craftsmen and women at Spirit carried out a full respray, sanded back and re-varnished all the wood and replace the deck teak. As well as restoring her elegant finish, Spirit worked on bringing Helen’s construction up to date and fine tuning her performance capabilities. In addition to a new sail wardrobe from OneSails East, Spirit improved the winch fittings, fitted AIS, modernised the rigging and brought her mast to a more upright position. As with all Spirits, Helen’s durable construction stood the test of time and her hull, keel and rudder remained in excellent condition with no work necessary.
Of the refurbishment work, Helen’s owner comments: “The work carried out on Helen by the team at Spirit is first class, their attention to detail is second to none and I have been very impressed. Sean and Nigel have kept me involved throughout but their leadership and guidance have driven the project and Helen now looks like a brand new yacht.” Helen’s owner continues: “Spirit yachts are extremely durable and their construction could go on for many decades. Helen simply needed lots of care, attention and expertise applied to bring her back up to the standard of a new Spirit yacht.”
