The award-winning Spirit 50CR (cruiser-racer) offers a balance of sailing performance with added interior volume compared to the Classic Spirit designs. The overall design stays true to Spirit’s timeless, modern classic style with the addition of increased interior headroom and beam for cruising comfort.
The ‘racer’ element of Spirit’s ‘cruiser-racer’ (CR) designs is evident when looking around the Lignia deck* of the 50CR. Carbon fibre mast and boom with nitronic rod rigging support a OneSails performance sail wardrobe. A Ritchie 5” steering compass is fitted to the binnacle and a 42” Mahogany and stainless steel wheel fitted with steering brake sits centrally in the beautifully crafted cockpit.
The spacious aft deck provides plenty of room for relaxing when cruising. Small lazarette lockers are self-draining and a larger lazarette offers additional stowage with access to stowed dinghy and all cruising equipment.
Mooring is facilitated by the primary anchor; a Delta 15kg mated to 75 metres 8mm calibrated chain mounted on at the bow with self-stowing rollers. A Lewmar vertical windlass comes with remote deployment and stowage from the helm and foredeck.
A Mastervolt mass combi ultra 12/300-150 charger/inverter is fitted with the option to add solar charging. A Mastervolt Alpha 12/130 second alternator charges a bank of 2 high capacity MLI Ultra 12/2500 Lithium Ion batteries. Mastervolt AGM 12/90 engine start battery and AGM 12/130 dedicated bow thruster battery.
Fixed push pits and pull pit and demountable stanchions fitted with flush deck sockets and s/s guardwires are in place for deck safety.
