The Spirit C72 Gwenhyfar II won the Spirit of Tradition Yacht of the Year at the 2024 Classic Boat Awards.
Hosted by Classic Boat magazine at the historic Royal Thames Yacht Club in London, the annual awards celebrate the best new yachts, restorations, and people in the classic boat world.
The Spirit C72, Gwenhyfar II, was shortlisted by a panel of judges from Classic Boat magazine, which has been the leading media title for classic boats since 1987. It was the first magazine in the UK dedicated to traditional boats and boating.
Spirit Yachts’ Managing Director Karen Underwood said, “It’s a huge honour to be recognised by the international classic yacht community for the quality of our design and build for the second year in a row. Gwenhyfar II is the ultimate modern classic yacht with her timelessly classic lines, timber construction, elegant interior, and modern performance.”
Karen continued, “The shortlisted entries were a real showcase of yacht design and boatbuilding talents from across the world. Thank you to everyone who voted and congratulations to all the other worthy winners.”
